Need help setting up my packages to make cpanel work in hostgator

posted Sep 02, 2010 17:34:53 by the vacationer
I'm setting up my reseller hostgator account. I don't remember bill having a video about this. I was told by hostgators welcome email that I need to set up my packages. (I bought the aluminum account.) My site has been propergated and is ready.
I watched their video and not sure what I need to put in the boxes to fill out etc. or if I even need to do this.
My acccount right now says I have a reseller setup package with x3 theme and 1M quota and 0M disk used.

I plan on using this account only for my own use for the neverfaillistbuilding system for only my main site and the subdomains etc.

Here is what I need to fill out and not sure what to put:

New Package Name:______Can I just make up any name or do I need to use my domain name?
How much quota should I put Quota MB ________
How much Bandwidth MB _________

should I put unlimited for the 7 next max items listed?
Max FTP accts________
max email accts________
max email list_________
max databases_________
max subdomains________
max parked domains_______
max addon domains_________

frontpage extentions and CGI access Should they be clicked with checkmark or not?___________

cpanel theme--should I use x3 ?

featurelist--should I use default?

thanks for any help

I would just copy the info from the main domain. At least that is what I did.

thanks max. I see if I would have put what hostgators video said I would have not had it correct. I also saw another post of someone asking the same thing so this should help everybody as bill did not include this part of the setup in any video. Now on to creating my cpanel!
thanks again

p.s. not quite sure what you mean by copying the form from the main domain. I'm just going to use your answers and put them in the boxes and hit add. I have no main domain yet except my domain name and the page with the cgi link etc. as I have not uploaded the domain templete yet. Probably way off base from what your talking about ;-)

Nelson,

with the main domain I mean the domain you registered with hostgator (I have several that is why I was talking about main domains). I assume you have chosen a reseller package with them (not the Baby Croc, etc. type stuff)? The smallest one costs $24,95 per month. When you have that then you go into your web host manager account to setup the packages. There should be one setup for your domain you registered already. Just copy the parameters from that setup. Just look at the email accounts and see if those are enough.

Hope that helps,

Max

I had to increase my settings in the package in the above settings.
