WP Syndicator Plugin Requested

posted Sep 11, 2010 02:39:14 by Benson
My WP Syndicator Plugin is defective. How do I replace it?

Do I just deactivate it and upload the new one?

Or, Do I delete the existing one and then plug it in the replacement?

Thanks.

I would delete the plugin folder for wp syndicator and re upload it just to be sure you have all the correct files.

Do I do it by FTP or Cpanel file manager or WP-admin?

I tried it with WP-Admin thru upload and did not deactivate it or delet ing it. It came back as failing.

First go into wp-admin and deactivate the plugin if you can.

Then I would go into cpanel and rename the wpsyndicator folder in /public_html/wp-content/plugins to wpsbackup. That way you have the original just in case. You can right click and choose rename.

Then go back to wp-admin and click on plugins, then add new, and then you can upload it from there. (you could also upload the wpsyndicator folder to this directory)

Once you activate the plugin make sure your site still looks good.

If everything looks good then you can delete the wpsbackup folder.

Hey Chris,

I think I screwed up somewhere while trying to replace the WP Syndicator plugin. I followed as instructed. After I deactivated and renamed to wpsbackup, I uploaded the new one. Well, the system showed both WP Syndicator in the plugin On activated and the other deactivated. I fgured the old one was interferring, so I deleted the old plugin, and the wpsbackup got deleted along with it.

The new WP Syndicator did load and when I went to the config and accounts section, the image next to the test button (no longer shows an image - it is missing.)

I pressed on WordPress.com to test it and the WP Syndicator still indicated a red!). All the other test, that I performed on the other accounts did not have any action. Nothing changed.

What do I do now?

It sounds like you have it installed correctly. Can you go directly to wordpress and log on? Just curious if that works. And are all the other accounts working ok?

Chris,

I checked yesterday with Tom Parker on the WordPress and Blogger accounts and have no problem logging in. All other accounts have tested fine with a check mark except the two above. Tom even tested my accounts on his plugin and it is working fine.

Is there a way to get a copy of your WP Syndicator Plugin if yours is working properly?

Tom Parker analyzed that the plugin I have is defective which was why he sent me a copy of his zipped.

I can give you my skype id.
